WABL PLAYERS

Welcome to Hills Raiders WABL

Welcome to the official home for all current and aspiring Hills Raiders WABL players.

Representing Hills Raiders in the Western Australian Basketball League (WABL) is a privilege. It’s more than just playing basketball — it’s about stepping up to compete at a high level, staying committed, and being part of a team culture built on trust and effort.

More Than Just a Team

Selection into a Hills Raiders WABL team recognises your talent, dedication, and discipline. It also comes with a clear responsibility: to represent our club and community with pride, both on and off the court.

WABL is not only about your performance. It’s also about how you embody our values every time you train, play, or support your team.

Our Core Values

At Hills Raiders, our WABL program is grounded in:

  • Resilience – bouncing back stronger

  • Inclusion – everyone matters

  • Excellence – always aiming higher

  • Integrity – doing what’s right

  • Respect – for teammates, opponents, and the game

These values guide how we coach, compete, and grow — together.

We’re proud to have you on this journey. Join us and Defend the Hill.

Players must attend all weekly training sessions (minimum 90 minutes) and all Sunday WABL games during the 16-week season, plus finals. Training continues through pre-season and grading tournaments from February to March.

Representing Hills Raiders in WABL is a competitive opportunity. Players must respect their place and show professionalism, knowing others were not selected.

Athletes are expected to attend sessions even if injured (if safe). Absences due to illness must be communicated promptly. Medical clearance is required after significant injuries like concussions.

Players must inform their coach or team manager early if unavailable for a session. Last-minute notices are only acceptable in emergencies.

Athletes must follow the Raiders Code of Conduct. Poor behaviour at training may result in removal and further disciplinary steps.

Players must wear the official Raiders training singlet and bring their basketball and water bottle to every session.

Athletes must respect venues, equipment, coaches, referees, teammates, and opposition teams.

All Hills Raiders WABL Players:

  • Must play in HRBA domestic competition (unless formally exempt).
  • All players must remain financial with both Domestic and WABL teams.
  • Participation in HRBA-sanctioned training only (for insurance coverage).
