ABILITY HOOPS IN THE HILLS

What is Ability Hoops?

Ability Hoops is Basketball Australia’s inclusive basketball program, now proudly delivered by Hills Raiders. The program is designed to open the court to children with disabilities, giving them a safe, welcoming space to learn basketball, grow their skills, stay active, and build lasting friendships.

Why We Do It

At Hills Raiders, we believe every child deserves the chance to play. Our Ability Hoops program removes barriers by focusing on support, fun, and confidence. With trained inclusive coaches and small-group sessions, we provide meaningful participation for all, no matter their background or ability.

What To Expect

Inclusive Coaching
Our coaches and volunteers complete Basketball Australia’s Inclusive Coaching module, ensuring they provide thoughtful support and adapt activities to each child’s needs.

Fun & Skill-Building
Sessions include warm-ups, fundamental basketball skills, and team-based games, all tailored to suit different energy levels, mobility, and learning styles.

Positive Community Vibes
Ability Hoops encourages players, families, and volunteers come together to celebrate inclusion and connection.

Who Can Join?

All children with disabilities are welcome, no experience needed. Whether your child is new to basketball or simply wants a positive, inclusive space to play and connect, Ability Hoops is the perfect place to start.
