The Hills Raiders Basketball Association (HRBA) recently completed another season of Miniball.  Designed for children aged between 6-12, Miniball is perfect for those who are beginning to learn the sport of basketball.  Miniballers are taught basic skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing and making lay ups.  They play on age appropriate rings (lowered to 8 feet) to make it easier for the children to learn correct shooting techniques.  If the children are keen to pursue their interest in basketball, they are able to join the HRBA summer competition starting in October in numerous grades for boys and girls from 8’s & under,10’s & under, 12’s & Under.

This year, over 40 children registered to attend Miniball, which was run for 10 weeks in term three, on Saturday mornings from 8.30am-10.00am.  Once again, it was conducted by the HRBA President, Bob Little, with the help of volunteer referees and players from the HRBA competition.

HRBA was able to purchase new balls for the children to use during the sessions, utilising funds granted from the Shire of Mundaring. The children had a fantastic time and were given participation certificates on the last day.

Hopefully, HRBA will see some of these children next week when the new season starts on Tuesday, the 11th of October, 2016.

Special thanks go to Bob Little for conducting the sessions with the help of Jessica Boudewyns, Lachlan Brown, Dylan White-Kiely, Mitchell Massam, Zach Gallagher and the McGowan family.  The HRBA appreciates your dedication to such a worthy cause.
